William’s work in education began with scholarships, but the larger ambition is to widen the conversation around opportunity itself. Who receives it? What helps somebody make the most of it? And how can one opening create many more?
More than thirty years of educational philanthropy offers a rare view of what happens after support is given. Scholars have studied at institutions including Oxford, Cambridge, MIT and Harvard, then built careers, families, businesses and initiatives of their own.
The next chapter brings those experiences into wider discussions about social mobility, future skills, lifelong learning and the role education can play in a rapidly changing world.
